Oriental medicine works wonders. What are her secrets? This is told by Zumrat Abileva, the founder of the SAMI Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine and the ZAptieka pharmacy of natural pharmacy, a third—generation doctor who studied treatment methods in China and Sinai. An ascetic who dreams of changing European thinking by turning it towards the oldest medical practices.
— For several years I had the opportunity to study in China and work there in a hospital. Over the years, my thinking has completely changed. Previously, I, like all doctors, was also programmed to treat only chemicals. The head ached — a pill, the pressure rose — another pill. And here everything is different, completely inexplicable from the point of view of a Western person. I admit, at first I was skeptical myself. Until she got sick. I was lifted to my feet with a point pain massage in one session. It was a lesson to me.
— What is the difference between a Chinese doctor and a European one?
— When receiving a patient, the European doctor practically does not look at him, and after listening to complaints, instantly prescribes medicine. In China, the patient is treated very carefully: diagnosis by pulse, eyes, tongue, nails is mandatory. Our body is very smart, it gives signals by itself, you just need to be able to read them.
In China, there are no universal prescriptions and techniques that are suitable for all patients — everyone is treated individually and can predict the onset of the disease two years before its appearance. Therefore, when I returned home, I decided to open a SAMI Chinese medicine center in Riga, inviting excellent doctors from China to Latvia.
— What does the SAMI Clinic offer patients?
— Here you can go through both one—time consultations — pulse diagnostics and spine diagnostics, as well as procedures whose purpose is to cause internal recovery processes in the body, relieve pain, fill the body with strength, relieve tension. There are different methods for this: massage, moxotherapy, herbal medicine. These are the three pillars of Chinese medicine, combining them, we get an excellent result.
— What is the difference between Chinese massage and classical massage?
— The fact that it goes along points, channels, meridians. If the lower back hurts, it is not necessary to massage the back, since the necessary points are on the legs and arms. Our doctors select the massage that is necessary for each patient. Ancient Chinese massage “Tuina" allows you to renew the qi energy in the body. Fire massage reduces inflammation, swelling, hematomas, relieves muscle spasms, helps to cope with fatigue, insomnia and depression. Scraper massage is deep, relaxing; lymphatic drainage is done with the help of Tien Shan spruce sticks. Moxotherapy is very effective — deep warming along the meridians with wormwood cigars. By the way, any of these massages is a wonderful gift for the New Year for family and friends.
— You said that one of the whales of oriental medicine is herbal medicine. Is that probably why ZAptieka has also been added to your clinic?
— The idea to create a natural healing pharmacy in Riga came to me after I visited Egypt. Not on a tourist trip with all inclusive hotels, but in the mountains of Sinai. There I was lucky enough to meet a hereditary healer, Dr. Akhmet, who has his own school of herbal medicine. Together with him I went to the mountains for herbs, listened to his stories and one day I realized: I want the residents of Riga to also have the opportunity to be treated with the gifts of Sinai. This is how ZAptieka appeared in Riga, which contains all the best and healing things that only exist in Egypt. A unique specialist of Yusri, an Egyptian, whom I invited to Latvia, works as a consultant at the pharmacy.
In ZAptieka you can find everything for health and beauty: from medicinal herbs that help to cope with various ailments, to natural cosmetics: creams, scrubs, oils of the highest quality. All these preparations are created in ecologically ideal conditions of Sinai and are confirmed by the “halal” sign.
In addition, we have a treatment room where Yusri does massages and bloodletting, which renews the body, lowers blood pressure, helps normalize cholesterol and sugar in the blood.
— You have a Chinese clinic, a pharmacy of herbs from Egypt. But we live in the West. Kipling said: “The West is the West, the East is the East, and they cannot come together.” Isn't that right?
— Yes, we live in a country of Western medicine that fights the disease using chemical compounds. They do not eliminate the cause of the disease, but drive it inside, making it chronic, incurable.
Eastern medicine stands on opposite positions: she treats not a disease, but a person, denies the use of artificial means, because nature is the best healer. But the West and the East may well come together — provided that people living in the West understand that the East is wiser, reconsider their way of life and turn to ancient knowledge and nature.
I want to change the mentality of people in Latvia. My clinic and pharmacy are just a small step along the way.
